TITLE: STRENGTHENING THE CAPABILITIES OF FOREST FRINGE COMMUNITIES IN SOUTHERN GHANA TO HALT ILLEGAL LOGGING
DEVELOPMENTAL OBJECTIVE: To improve the contribution of local communities to SFM and REDD
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE: To sensitize and build the capacities of local communities on forest policy, laws and agreements as well as determine motivational needs for monitoring and reporting on illegal logging in local communities.
OUTPUTS
Output 1: Local communities sensitized and trained on forest laws and agreements including Timber Resources Management Act and FLEGT/VPA agreements
OUTPUT 2: 150 forest fringe community members have their capacity built in monitoring and Reporting
OUTPUT 3: Monitoring needs for local communities to monitor and report in illegal logging determined.
