CSIR-FORIG LADIES CLUB HOSTS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS SESSION
A Mental Health Awareness program was held today at CSIR-FORIG. The program, organised by the CSIR-FORIG Ladies Club, provided valuable insights into understanding stress and adopting practical strategies for maintaining mental well-being. One key reflection that stood out was that “Stress is not what happens to us, but our response to what happens, and that response is something we can choose.” Some important takeaways included: Practising gratitude and maintaining a positive outlook Building inner strength through consistent reflection and prayer Prioritising rest, exercise, and overall wellness Leveraging social support systems Setting boundaries and taking intentional breaks, including digital detox.
This session reinforced the importance of creating safe spaces for open conversations around mental health, especially within our workplaces and communities.
Our sincere appreciation to Dr. Hephzibah Okyere-Mensah of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for an enlightening presentation and to the ladies of our sister institute, Building and Road Research Institute (BRRI), for prioritising such an important conversation.
Let us continue to advocate for environments where mental well-being is recognised as essential to productivity and overall quality of life.
