Mrs Judith Odei Owusu-Asante is an Assistant Research Scientist with the Wood Industry and Utilization Division, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research-Forestry Research Institute of Ghana (CSIR-FORIG). She holds MPhil in Analytical Chemistry (Spectro analytical Methods, Bioinorganic Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Her research focuses on analysis of chemical components of plant extracts as well as extractives from forest products and product development (including botanical pesticides, fungicides, gum, and glue). Furthermore, her research interests involve reduction of forest residue and residue utilization, wood preservation and biofuel production from plant biomass as well as culturing of algae such as Spirulina. She is a member of Research Staff Association of CSIR, Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), Ghana Chemical Society (GCS) and Ghana Science Association (GSA) amongst many other esteemed groups.
