During the year under review, the first official Orientation and Matriculation ceremony of the CSIR-College of Science and Technology (CCST) was successfully held at the Auditorium of CSIR-Crops Research Institute on 22 January 2021. The Department of Natural Resources Management (DNRM) which has so far admitted 52 students and graduated 14 of them to date, has run the Climate Change & Integrated Natural Resources Management Programme successfully and according to schedule, notwithstanding the restrictions occasioned by the global health crisis.
A total of 1,003 people from diverse professional backgrounds were trained in alternative livelihood sessions organized by CSIR-FORIG across Ghana in 2021 which includes 678 participants in snail farming, 241 participants in beekeeping for honey production, 76 participants in mushroom cultivation and 8 participants in both nursery and plantation establishment.
