The new Director of the Forestry Research Institute of Ghana of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR-FORIG), Dr Kwame Antwi Oduro, has stressed his determination to make the Institute a household name, develop strategies to improve staff welfare and performance.

Dr. Kwame Antwi Oduro, a Research Scientist has been appointed as the new Director of the CSIR -Forestry Research Institute of Ghana. He takes over from Professor Daniel A. Ofori who served for about nine years at the institute.

The Director of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)-Forestry Research Institute of Ghana (FORIG), Dr. Kwame Antwi Oduro, has called on the government and relevant authorities to ensure strict enforcement of policies and laws governing forest reserves.

In an effort to promote local wildlife conservation, the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has set up the CSIR Wildlife Museum at the Forest Research Institute of Ghana (FORIG) in Fumesua, Ashanti Region.
