The prime focus of the Commercialization Division (CD) is to drive business activities of CSIR-FORIG. Other responsibilities include:
- Coordinates all commercial activities of the Institute and liaises with various divisions to enhance the income generating capacity of CSIR-FORIG;
- Conceptualize and develop plans for marketing CSIR-FORIG products and services;
- Develop sales promotion and marketing strategies;
- Conducts market surveys to identify business opportunities;
- Organize capacity development programs in livelihood technologies for interested clients;
- Facilitate communication and branding of the Institute’s products and services;
- Spearhead Public Private Partnership Agreements with stakeholders;
The Commercialization Division is headed by Alexander Ansong Obeng (Senior Marketing Officer) and has a staff strength comprising 2 senior members, 4 senior staff and 5 junior staff.
The Commercial entities of the Division incorporate the production, marketing and sale of:
- High Quality Prekese Syrup
- High Quality Honey
- Forest Tree Seeds and Seedlings
- Furniture and other Wood Products
- Training in Alternative Livelihoods (Snail Farming, Beekeeping, Mushroom Cultivation)
- Operation of Guest Houses
- Hiring of Conference Rooms and Grounds
